Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School is a fully accredited, four year high school located on an eighty acre campus on North Bridge Street and Vogt Drive in Bridgewater. Serving all of Somerset County, SCVTHS accepts students on a full or shared-time basis for the twenty challenging programs that combine training in occupational and academic skills.

William H. Dudeck was sworn in as a new member of the Somerset County Vocational Board of Education at the January 20, 2010 meeting. He is a former teacher of Wood and Metal Shops at Bridgewater Raritan High School.

New Fresh Air Breathing Equipment Installed in Auto Body Shop
Students in George Byrd’s Auto Body program at SCVTHS will be able to complete their refinishing projects using the new fresh air equipment that was installed in January. The equipment is designed to provide clean air for students to breathe while working in the spray booth.

Henry Wang Receives Award from National Merit Scholarship Program
Henry Wang, a senior student in the Health and Medical Sciences Academy at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School, was awarded a Letter of Commendation for outstanding performance on the 2008 Preliminary Sat/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. He was recognized for “exceptional academic promise demonstrated by his performance.” Henry scored in the top 5% of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition.

Mark Robert O. Ajala, a senior student in the Health & Medical Sciences Academy, received an Outstanding Participant award from the National Merit Scholarship Program. He scored in the top 3% of more than 160,000 Black Americans in the 2010 National Achievement Program when they took the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
