PARCC testing will begin on today, April 24th in the gym for English 10 students. PARCC testing for students in Geometry will begin on Tuesday, April 25th. Students should see their Math and English teachers for their testing locations and time.
MINDFULNESS & YOGA PRACTICE:
We welcome you to join our next Mindfulness and Yoga practice on April 25th during 7th period lunch in the Tech Center. Learn and share relaxation techniques, manage your feelings and increase focus. To register please see Ms. Donovan or Mrs. Santiago in the Linkages Office.
Come support the Senior Class and enjoy a Pasta Dinner hosted by Trade Wins on April 28th from 6-8pm! See any Senior Council member or Mrs. Francis in F109 for a ticket! All proceeds will go towards the Senior Trip to Dutch Springs.
Spice up your reading with a little help from Chipotle Mexican Grill. From now until the end of the school year for every new book you read, Mrs. Hovey will give you a buy one/get one free certificate for Chipotle restaurants. Come to the library to check out books or read one of your own, any genre will do and then you are on your way to a free burrito, salad or bowl.
LINKAGES MUSIC & WRITING CIRCLE - NEW TIME:
The Music & Writing Circle is where students share and listen to music and writing in a respectful and supportive space. The music we share can be any style (including rock, folk, pop, country, alternative, rap and hip-hop). Feel free to bring an instrument if you play one. A guitar is always available for students who wish to borrow one. Writing can be poetry, short stories, song lyrics, essays or journal entries. What you share does not have to be your own original work. The Music and Writing Circle will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month during 5th period in the LINKAGES Drop-In Center.
Prom 2017, Hollywood Masquerade, will be held on Friday, June 2nd from 6PM-10PM at the Bridgewater Marriott. The cost is $85 per person. The first deposit of $45 has passed; final payment and all paperwork are due by May 10th. Please see Ms. G. or Ms. Prezioso for more information. Also, please be advised that deposits are non-refundable.
Attention freshman and sophomore Interact members: there will be a Rotary Youth Leadership Program which will be a District Conference. The program will be held at the Shawnee Inn in PA on May 6, 2017 from 10AM (9AM departure) to 3PM (4PM arrival home). See Ms. Gotti in F102 if you have any questions.
PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN DAY:
We will be celebrating ‘Proud to be an American Day’ on Thursday, May 25th. The program will begin at 8:30AM and include a Posting of the Colors by the Law & Public Safety program, followed by musical selections by Theatre Arts students and then conclude with a tribute to USMC Captain Stanford Shaw, III and USMC Sergeant Nilton Cacoilo. Please contact Mr. Graf if you have any questions.
Change strings, learn chords, & unwind with free guitar lessons at SCVTHS. Students are invited to attend individual guitar lessons during period 5 or period 6. Lessons will take place on selected Wednesdays in room D231. Guitars are provided. Joining is easy; please make an appointment with Mr. Schade at Mr.Schade@scvths.net.
All students have been issued a Student ID and should have it at all times. Students without an ID should be directed to Mrs. Santiago in the Main Office.
The replacement cost is $2.00.
