Edward Cunningham, a sophomore in the Mechatronics, Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (MEAM) Program, has been selected as SCVTHS’ Student of the Month for November 2019. Edward is the son of Richard and Susan Cunningham of Skillman.

SCVTHS Science Instructor Ms. Denise Gotti nominated Edward for the Student of the Month award because, “Ed is always helpful to his fellow classmates and teachers. We can always count on him to contribute to class lessons and offer teachers helpful tips. Ed has an easy-going personality, which makes him a daily pleasure to be around. He takes pride in his workmanship and excels on projects (solo and team).”

At SCVTHS, Edward is a member of the boys’ soccer team, a constant Principal’s Honor Roll student and a previously named Stellar Student. This past soccer season, Edward received the Coach’s Recognition Award. At his sending district of Montgomery, Edward is a member of the wrestling team and has volunteered at Montgomery High School’s summer school program for students with disabilities.

Outside of school, Edward enjoys fishing, biking, wood working and running. Additionally, Edward has been working at the Montgomery Friends of Open Space Farmers’ Market for the past two years.

Edward’s future plans include furthering his education at MIT and attending the Marines’ Officer Candidates School.
