Admission to the Academy for Health & Medical Sciences

STUDENT SELECTION

Eighth grade students in both Somerset and Hunterdon County may apply to the Academy for Health and Medical Sciences. Students are accepted into the Academy based on the following admissions criteria:

- 7th and 8th grade GPAs

- 7th grade standardized test scores (where applicable) 

- Admissions testing for Mathematics and Language Arts

- Personal interview

Students with disabilities and English language learners are encouraged to apply. 

Parents and students need to work with 8th grade guidance counselors who will assist in ensuring official documentation is included in application packet. Also, parents and students are required to attend Information Sessions on Zoom. See below for details:

MANDATORY VIRTUAL PARENT & STUDENT INFORMATION SESSIONS  

Interested parents and students MUST have attended one of the following.
The registration cut-off is 5:45pm before the start of each meeting. Meetings start promptly at 6:00.

APPLICATION TIMELINES
 
PLEASE NOTE: Applications are not considered unless you have attended the mandatory Parent Information Session.

Admission Testing will be Posted in the Middle of March.

REMINDER: THERE IS NO PREPARATION REQUIRED FOR THE ADMISSIONS TEST. 

REMINDER: CALCULATORS ARE NOT PERMITTED DURING THE ADMISSIONS TEST.
