This site is dedicated to Photography 1, a 5 credit full year Visual and Performing Arts elective at SCVTHS.
Class meets daily for one period.
The class covers the Core Curriculum Standards for Visual and Performing Arts while teaching students how to use a digital SLR camera, how to work with Photoshop, as well as how to create individual, meaningful art. We look at the phone camera as another tool for collecting photographs (assets) that may work their way into a final image.
Lessons are designed to enable students to complete their work using the school's Canon cameras during class time. Students may check out a camera to gather images outside of the campus setting with approval.
Art is printed and displayed on campus. Students are encouraged to submit to local contests.
