• About the Summer TWILIGHT Program

The mission of the Twilight Program is to reach out to youth seeking vocational training and academic assistance to prepare them for the future by providing them with the skills and attitudes needed to participate effectively in the labor market and/or to continue their education. This mission is approached by providing high quality, hands-on vocational training and academic instruction with small class size and individual attention. The teachers and other staff members are role models who provide the students with direction, support and respect. The vocational program is available at no cost to the student. The curriculum is continually improved and expanded with well-equipped shops, computers and vocationally related software.   They will also receive  basic skills and academic instruction in English and Math during the summer session. Students will earn a stipend for their participation in the Twilight Program.

In addition to vocational training, the Twilight Program offers opportunities for students to receive assistance with a range of issues. Through the Linkages Program, students have access to individual counseling for problems they may be struggling with in their personal lives. Students have access to free, on-site counseling for substance abuse, mental health and health issues, and life skills. Every effort is made to ensure that the most supportive and encouraging learning environment is made available to Twilight students.

The Summer Twilight Program is offered during the month of July and meets from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Round trip transportation is provided to Program participants.
