STUDENTS PROMOTING AWARENESS & ACCEPTANCE:
Are you ready to start the new year with brilliant opportunities to shine? Any student enthusiastic about making positive impacts throughout our campus community are welcome! S.P.A.A. will be holding general information meetings on Thursday, January 23rd in Room F102. The morning meeting will begin at 7:20AM while the afternoon meeting will begin at 2:20PM. Please see Mr. Brandon (Health and Wellness office) or Ms. Gotti if you have any questions.
Attention Juniors: please remember to check your email and take the attendance survey for the 2021 Class Trip. Responses are due tomorrow.
WINTER WONDERLAND DANCE:
NHS/NTHS will be holding a dance on Friday, January 24th, from 7PM to 10PM in the gym. Tickets are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in the main office - see Ms. Santiago or in room F108 - see Mr. Jefopoulos. Guests are welcome to the dance, but must bring a valid high school ID. There will be pizza, baked goods, and refreshments on sale. Come out and have a good time with friends!
Rotary Interact Club members will be selling flower grams during lunch periods over the next two weeks. Order a rose for $2.00 between now and Thursday, February 6th. Deliveries will be made on the Tuesday and Wednesday before Valentine's Day. Please see Miss Miller or Mr. Tirrito for more details.
SOFTBALL TEAM CLOTHING DRIVE:
The Somerset Tech Softball Program is holding a Clothing Drive Fundraiser until Friday, January 24th. The team will be collecting new or gently used men, women, and children's clothing, shoes, purses, belts, bed and bath linens, and stuffed animals! Additionally, bicycles and baby strollers are also accepted! Please drop all items off in plastic bags to Ms. McGarry's room, F208 or in the main lobby. If you have any questions, please see Ms. McGarry or Mrs. McNerney!
CAP & GOWN PAYMENTS & TASSEL PICK UP:
Any full-time senior who has not paid for their cap and gown, please see Main Guidance as soon as possible. Orders will be placed at the end of January. For share time seniors who ordered a memory tassel, please see Main Guidance as soon as possible to pick them up.
SPRING SPORTS MEETING:
There will be a mandatory Spring sports meeting for all boys and girls interested in Baseball and Softball on Wednesday, January 29th. A and B shop students will meet 3rd period in the cafeteria, and C shop and Academy students will meet 9th period in the cafeteria. All students must check in with their teachers before going to the cafeteria. See Mr. Morales or Mr. Pelliccia if you have any questions.
LINKAGES MUSIC & WRITING CIRCLE:
The Linkages Music & Writing Circle will meet during 6th period every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month starting on October 2nd in the Linkages Drop-In Center. In the Circle we share and listen to songs, poetry and writing in a respectful and supportive space. We love all kinds of music including rock, rap, alternative, folk, popular, country and instrumentals. Writing can be poetry, short stories, lyrics, essays or journal entries. Share your own original work or the work of artists you admire. Share a song on your tablet or phone or bring an instrument if you play one. A guitar is always available for students who wish to borrow one. All students, including those who come just to listen, are always welcome. Mindfulness Mondays will meet every Monday during all lunch periods. Sign up sheets will be in the cafeteria; feel free to bring your lunch. Please come ready to celebrate you, practice relaxation exercises, deep breathing and other mindful activities that help improve concentration and mood. Please spread the word and bring a friend. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you!
All students have been issued a Student ID and should have it at all times. Students who misplace an ID should be directed to the Main Office; the replacement cost is $2.00.
