SCVTHS STUDENTS COMPETE IN REGIONAL TOURNAMENT FOR NJ SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

On January 15th, students from the Academy for Health and Medical Sciences Program at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School competed at the Union County College regional tournament for the New Jersey Science Olympiad.

Juniors Elizabeth Gershater of Bridgewater and Veda Kota of Hillsborough placed 4th in Anatomy and Physiology, while freshmen Rayyan Alidina of HIllsborough and Bhavya Deshaboina of Belle Mead placed 5th in the Forensics category.

Veda Kota, founder and captain of the SCVTHS Science Olympiad team, remarked, “It was really amazing to see our whole team come together and compete. Although we did not advance to the state level, I am glad we gained the benefit of the experience.”
