On April 13th, Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School students competed against other career and technical education students from around the state at the 2019 New Jersey SkillsUSA Championships. Out of the 101 students from SCVTHS who competed, 65 received medals including 28 Gold. The Gold medal winners are now eligible to test their skills in Louisville, Kentucky from June 24-29, 2019 at the 55th annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC).

During the National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), more than 6,000 career and technical education students will showcase their talents and compete in 100 different trade, technical and leadership fields. All contests are run with the help of industry, trade associations, and labor organizations. The test competencies are set by industry.
