Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School.

Kayla Wronski, a freshman in the Automotive-Diesel Technology Program, has been selected as Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School’s (SCVTHS) Student of the Month for December 2020. Kayla is the daughter of Chris and Robin Wronski of Bridgewater.

SCVTHS Science Instructor Ms. Denise Gotti nominated Kayla for the Student of the Month Award for her “overflowing positive leadership skills.”  Ms. Gotti went on to add, Kayla “energizes the classroom with her daily contributions. She is a passionate speaker and presenter. She always volunteers to go first, help a teacher, and even help other classmates without hesitation!”  SCVTHS English Instructor Christopher Miller also nominated Kayla for the Student of the Month Award because Kayla is a “great student, who participates in class and online.”

As a freshman, the Student of the Month award is Kayla’s first high school award. However, during her time in middle school, she was a consistent member of the honor and high honor roll.

Outside of SCVTHS, Kayla plays tackle and flag rugby. Additionally, Kayla is a member of the United States Sea Cadet Corps. In her spare time, Kayla assists in coaching younger rugby players, spends time with her friends, as well as attends advanced training to become a Seaman Apprentice. Last year, Kayla was selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum, which has been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After high school, Kayla plans to join the United States Coast Guard.
