SCVTHS SENIOR RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION

Sharon Samuel, a senior in the Academy for Health & Medical Sciences at Somerset County Vocational & Technical Schools, who was recently named an African American Scholar for the 2020-2021 school year.

 

As part of the College Board National Recognition Programs (CBRP), Sharon Samuel of Hillsborough, a senior in the Academy for Health & Medical Sciences, was recently named an African American Scholar for the 2020-2021 school year. The award was given to Sharon for her excellence in academic achievement.

Sharon achieved this status for scoring in the top 2.5% of PSAT/NMSQT test takers who identify as one or more of the following: African American, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, or attend school in a rural area, or are from a small town.

David Coleman, Chief Executive Officer of The College Board stated, “We are extremely proud of all you’ve accomplished and to honor you as part of the National African American Recognition Program. We are hopeful this program helps you on your path to college. On behalf of the College Board, I celebrate your success and the brightness of all that’s ahead.”
