For a second year, the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School Girls Softball Team recently held a clothing drive fundraiser to help support their team. At the end of the drive, the girls filled a box truck with clothes, as well as shoes, handbags, belts, bed and bath linens, stuffed animals and bicycles.

The clothes and other donated items were then sent to a facility, where they will be distributed to thrift stores and others in need. The girls will now wait to see how much the items they donated weigh and will receive a check based upon that total weight.

“The success of this program is a true team effort. The girls work hard on the field, and their families work hard to support them,” said SCVTHS Softball Coach Brittany McGarry. McGarry went on to add, “The softball team has been so supportive of one another through this pandemic, and I believe the success of this fundraiser will foreshadow a great, and heavily anticipated Spring season!”
