2021 SCVTHS graduate Nicole Gaeta
Nicole Gaeta, a 2021 graduate of the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School and the Raritan Valley Community College’s Cosmetology Completer Program, recently was selected to join renowned international hairstylist Marcello Costa’s Team MC, as a hairstylist for the 2023 New York Fashion Week in New York City.
As part of Team MC, Nicole will be working with eminent clothing designers Malena Belafonte, Ayama Studio, and Concept Korea for this year’s fashion collections. Gaeta also participated in last year’s New York Fashion Week for Kate Spade’s fashion house. She also helped with hairstyles and makeup for The Princeton Opera and various plays for McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey.
Nicole spoke of her time at SCVTHS stating, "SCVTHS has provided me with a balance of academic as well as technical success. The staff and teachers go beyond their job description to provide the students with all the necessary resources to succeed during their time at SCVTHS.” Gaeta went on to add, “I am beyond grateful to all of my teachers for their support, passion, hard work, and innovative teaching styles to help me understand and improve my craft. SCVTHS has an amazing staff, and I am happy to call this school my alma mater. SCVTHS has helped me succeed in my profession by introducing me to competitions with SkillsUSA and providing a high standard of learning where I was able to make a smooth transition to college and professional jobs."
Gaeta is currently enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University and is on track to receive her undergraduate degree in May, with future plans of earning a master’s degree in marketing.
