Throughout January, the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School Class of 2023 hosted a clothing drive fundraiser to benefit the senior class and their yearly activities. As part of the drive, the students collected new and gently-used clothing for men, women and children, shoes, bicycles, baby strollers, purses, belts, bed/bath linens, and stuffed animals.

SCVTHS Special Education Instructor Kristen McNerney stated, “Fundraising is something all schools and clubs do, and coming up with new and different ideas is tough. The SCVTHS softball team used this fundraiser a few years back, and the senior class asked if they could use it as well. A clothing drive is a great way for everyone to get involved including the PTO, students, staff, and social media. It was a huge success, and the senior class is truly grateful to all who helped!”

A total of 3,476 pounds of clothing was donated, and $556.16 was raised. The funds raised will go towards the Class of 2023 Senior Breakfast and Senior Class Trip.
