Alexander Herskovitz, the May 2023 Student of the Month at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School

Alexander Herskovitz, a freshman in the Mechatronics, Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing (MEAM) Program, has been selected as Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School’s Student of the Month for May 2023. Alexander is the son of Ken Herskovitz and Donna Lewin of Manville.

SCVTHS Science Instructor Denise Gotti nominated Alexander for the Student of the Month award stating, “Alex is always willing to be a team player with fellow classmates and his teacher. His kind-hearted and helpful nature has led him to become a positive leader in the biology classroom. His inspiring use of technology for creating impressive projects is matchless.”

Outside of school, Alexander is an active member of the Boy Scouts and Manville Band & Theater programs. Additionally, Alexander practices martial arts and volunteers at Temple Beth-El, where he “operates tech during some services.”  In his free time, Alexander enjoys reading, being outside, and using his custom-built computer. In the future, Alexander hopes to become a mechanical engineer.
