SCVTHS STUDENT COUNCIL HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CLOTHING DRIVE FUNDRAISER

The Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School Student Council hosted a clothing fundraiser during the month of October. As a result of their efforts, over 1,000 pounds of clothes, shoes, purses, bed and bath linens, and even stuffed animals were collected.

SCVTHS students were able to bring items to collection stations in the school lobby and the gym.  At the end of the drive, Student Council members filled a truck with the donated items, which were then brought to a central location to be weighed and then distributed to thrift stores and those in need.  The Student Council will receive a check, based on the weight of items collected, that will be used to fund events throughout the school year.

According to Shannon Pisani, Science Instructor and Student Council Advisor, “All grade levels worked together to run the clothing drive. It is rewarding to see the entire school come together to donate clothes and raise money for the yearly student activities.”
